Hi All,
It’s Paul here coming to you from Lukla.
Today has been a really long day, walking from Namche to Lukla and the three of us are pretty tired. We’ve walked from 8am, and have just arrived here at 17:00, with only an hour of rest. Although most of it was downhill, it’s hard going on your knees. Much of it is rock, which was quite slippery too, especially in the rain.
We met a few people, including our camp 2 cook, Mingma, who had fallen victim to the terrain. We gave him Ibuprofen, and he was most grateful.
Flights delayed
We heard that no flights have gone from Lukla for the past few days due to bad weather from the oncoming monsoon, although some went this morning. We are really hoping that our flight isn’t delayed and we can get to Kathmandu tomorrow.
Looking forward to a quick dinner, a good sleep tonight and a shower in Kathmandu,
Paul.
Happy travels and enjoy the remainder of your journey.
you sure have inspired many sould to LIVE THEIR DREAMS.

Old Houndog out here in West Texas just saying what a positive input you all have been and continue to be. Am retired now from years of Alaska mountains and your most excellent website for the past month has certainly perked me up. You have restored my faith in the dotcom generation for sure. All the best.

Dear Paul and Fiona,
You two still amaze us back here in the Florida Keys. Your adventure continues showing us the way home.
I guess our friend friend Dennis must be doing the same as you guys treking along the downhill and wet weather.
Watch your steps ! Be safe all the way home.
Thanks for your journalism. We really got a glimpse of what the adventure was like on a day to day basis. God Bless. Say hi to Dennis if you see him along the way. We are waiting for him with the beers !
Hugs,
Larry and Marianne B

Hopefully, by the time you read this, you will be in Kathmandu (where a shower awaits you!)
The photo of Paul and Fiona in front of the waterfall is a photo for all time. You look as if you were just starting out on a trek. Love the smiles! MC

Hi Paul and Fiona,
Congrats on all of your achievements – your vision, planning, preparation and implementation. Thanks for taking us all along on the journey. If you are looking for some time out down at sea level come and see us on Kangaroo Island – you might find it all a little flat but the oxygen is excellent – as is the wine!
Regards,
Craig

Can I breathe a sigh of relief yet??? Congratulations you guys, all the Melbourne Uni team is so very proud of you both. Even my little Thomas has been following your journey over this brilliant website!! I’ve been showing him the pictures and using it as leverage to get him to start crawling (“see Thomas, this is what you can do if you start moving!”). Can’t wait to see you soon and share a celebratory glass of champers or five.
Take care
Emma

Congratulations on a great effort. As a class we came up with 5 questions for you.
1.Did any of you get frostbite?
2.How much oxygen did you use?
3.How cold can it get on Everest?
4.Why are there only 2 routes?
5.How big are the duffel bags?
Thanks for your time. We hope to hear from you soon. 3S

Just when you thought it was going to be easy going and down came the rain. We do hope that you will be able to get to Katmandu and then homeward bound.
Well done Mary, you are an amazing woman, but not reprieve from swimming when you come home.
Keep smiling.

So! We’ve followed your planning, preparation, and brilliant execution. But, what about your recuperation plans? Get back to work on Monday? Hope not. From my experience, the sea works wonders, espec the Mediterranean 🙂 Wish you all to get home sweet home, asap.

Hi Guys, hope you don’t get stuck in Lukla for too long! We had a couple of games of pool while we were there – bit of fun. We are in London now which has been great fun so far.
I’ll give you guys a call at Hotel Tibet (assuming you are there for a few days).
