Seriously this is so much fun – who knew back seat summiting Everest by proxy would rock so much! Thinking of you all and wishing you a safe summit and smooth return – way to go!

If in fact Paul summits within the next hour….and we all hope he does…It would be on the same day and nearly the same time as Fiona did last year. That would make for a great T- Shirt order back in KTM 🙂

Great news! Thanks for the update! It must be hard for you Fiona to be in base camp and just wait for the radio. We are watching closely and hitting the refresh button. Good luck for a safe summit and return!

This is great news, can hardly get any work done! Chris and I are both glued to our computer screens at work. Also thinking of you Fiona, if I am nervous and excited I can only imagine how you’re feeling!

Following along, riveted to my computer. Last year it was Base Camp Mary giving us constant updates. I remember the news of Fiona : “Summit! Summit! Summit!” How exhilirating that was! And now, anytime, the same cry of success, albeit just 365 days later, will ring true for our brave Paul! Upwards, mate, knock this bugger off!

    Blessings and prayers,
    Mark R

Paul, the challenge was set, the goal was reached, so smile like we all are, as everest is now yours too! Whilst you could probably job up it again, your next challenge it to arrive home safely, which will put the sweetest cherry on the top of this amazing adventure. Congratulation! ari

Paul’s Everest Climb 2007

In 2007, Paul returned to climb Mt Everest after missing out on reaching the summit by 100 metres the previous year. In 2006, Paul and Fiona both climbed together and although Fiona successfully summited, problems with Paul's oxygen system forced him to turn around. On 23 May 2007, exactly a year to the day later, he reached the summit. This is the daily blog from this climb.
