Here is a recording of the Service of the Monks from Tengboche Monastery, recorded by Paul this morning.
The actual ceremony audio didn’t come across the satellite phone very well, but you can get a general feel for it.
For photos and further information about the monastery you can visit the following website:

I just listened to the Monks chanting at the Tengboche Monastery while viewing Paul, Tim, Dame and co.’s trek to Tengboche. Good stuff! MC
Hi Paul,
I’ve been viewing your words on this site as I view TA Loeffler’s site. She is climbing ahead of you and is at basecamp now! She had her first trek over the icefal today. I’ve read your story of the climb last year and I want to wish you all the best in this climb. I wish you all the success you deserve and without mishaps along the way. Thanks for this wonderful site.

Hi Boys
We have just got back from playing 18 holes at Rosebud. This course is on the Southern side of Arthur’s Seat and is very hilly. Dad’s comment was that now he knows what you boys are going through with your climbing!!!
We are playing our copy of Om Mani Padme Hum at the moment …we feel closer to you!
Hope the Easter Bunny found his way up the mountain.
I looked at the Tengboche Monastery site and it brings back so many memories- I wish I was there with you.
Weather here glorious- warm sunny days and the Bay looked beautiful today. We had fish and chips at Sorrento- Sorrento is so busy it was nice to get back home to the peace and quiet!
How is the bakery at Tengboche?
lots of love

Just checking in to see how all the preparation and is going on the climb to base camp, after finishing another easter egg. Listening to the monks – it sounds like they are eating theirs at the same time as chanting… Jordan
It’s amazing to me that here I am listening to the monks and watching your progress on google earth. I quietly watched last year, sending you positive thoughts and energy. I will be doing the same again this year. Thanks for taking the time to drag all of us along with you. Sharing your climb to the top of the world with so many people is a very generous thing to do.
Sounds like you progress is going well. I love following Google Earth.
Tim, your chocolate easter bunny is sitting here waiting for you. In all the packing, I realize he didn’t make it in. Oh well, hopefully that’s the only thing that was left behind. I went to Karoun last night with Alena, Phil, and her relatives. We missed you, it was a lot of fun.
We had a snow storm a couple of days ago but it’s all disappeared now and the weather is finally getting nice.. hope it stays this way.. we’ve had enough winter. Now that’s it’s spring I get daily brochures on the front door for landscaping companies. I notice the neighbors don’t have the same brochures on their doors 🙂
Love,
Inna.
Steve, you were missed at our Easter dinner table. Your climb was the talk annd prayers of us all, the nine of us. Cheryl as you know is east of the mountains. Here we have cool weather and frequent stormy rain showers. The Marysville and Portland people left early for their homes Sunday due to weather and traffic. Jay’s dad Joe is in ICU in Tampa. Love from Olympia.
I guess there are some readers following Steve’s journey along Paul’s. (at least his sister, Alice and his Dad, also bumped into some comments from his friends) Attila’s just sent a close portre of him, if you like to see it, click here: http://www.projectb.hu/everest/team/20070419Steve.jpg
Thank you Mira, for the sending the picture of Steve,we appreciate it! He appears to have dropped some weight, so we hope that he is well.
Do you have another website with trip updates or do you just use that link for pictures? Thank you for sharing!
HI Alice,
Not at all really, I know it means a lot at least seeing a pic or receiving a few lines from our loved ones… so I thought any news is very welcomed:) We have a website with Attila’s trip updates but that one is unfortunatelly not in English at the moment (it is in Hungarian, but will be translated later), but if you wish to visit type in your browser http://www.projectb.hu/everest Some pics can be seen there, sometimes it is not just about Attila but about his team mates. The navigation menu you can find in English as well (what a trick;) so that won’t be very difficult to check the content.
But you may also wish to visit Meagan’s website as she is Canadian all her posts are in English;) – she was kind enough to post some photos and also mentioned some fellow climbers all along her climb. http://www.sciencenorth.ca/cool-science/meagan-everest/meagan-travelogue.html
Best, Mira
