Hi all, Fiona here again.
Just a quick note to let you know that I’ve just heard from Paul on the radio and he and Attila are both safe at Camp 1. (Hopefully only 1 more trip down through the icefall to go 🙂
Paul said they had an enjoyable climb and only spent about 25 minutes in the hot sun. I’m sure he’ll write more about it later.
Meanwhile I’ve just discovered again how good a bucket of hot water can feel!
Cheers, Fiona
Well Done Paul.
Fiona – thanks for the update, what was it like waiting to hear from Paul?
Miranda
Good to hear Paul and Attila are at C-1. Hopefully Meagan is at C-1 (or did she continue on to C-2?) Thanks for the update, Fiona!

Well done Paul!

The excitement and anticipation comes through on your messages. The photos are even better than last year – amazing line of ants, like climbing Uluru. What a buzz. Great achievement Paul, not long now for the big one – hope you get time for a capuccino at the top. Enjoy the scenery!
Go Paul! And hang in there Fi. *hugs*
Hope all goes well Paul – best of luck!
Thanks Fi
That’s a great start- thank goodness. We are watching the weather updates and are thinking of you both constantly. Wish I was there with you this time..

Dear Paul & Fi,
Sitting here in a comfortable room in Virginia, reading & listening to your reports, I still get chills. What a thrill it is to be witness to your spectacular efforts. Wow! I can’t even imagine the adrenaline rush you both are having right now. Please keep focused on the little things. Hopefully, Fi, you have a running list to remind Paul. The Gods will bless you both with great weather and brilliant sun. We’ve got the champagne ready for corking. (Is it proper to wish “break a leg” like they do in acting?). Nah, I don’t think so. Keep the smiles.

Congratulations … and many more to come this year. The Jordan family. Mornington Pen. Aus.
Hi Fiona and Paul,
Great to hear that you are safely at camp 1, Paul. And Fiona, did you find the hot water before or after Paul left? If you were anywhere near the rest of us this morning, you would have wished that we had found hot water before we hopped on the plane out of Lukla. Good timing for us too with the extra day trekking because no-one could fly out of Lukla yesterday. We are off to Fire and Ice for tea tongiht and we will notice an empty seat at the table. Take care and we are all thinking of you both. Liz.
fiona .lets hope its buckets of champagne in a few days time! [ken.nz]
