Rest day at Camp 2 – 31/07/04

After our long day yesterday, we were quite tired and in need of rest. Ironically, it was a beautiful sunny day! See photo with Khan Tengri in the background.

Fiona suffered from some snow-blindness from the previous day so spent most of the day in the tent (now fully recovered). We also concentrated on rehydrating ourselves – which meant lots of melting snow for water.

Khan Tengri Climb 2004

In 2004, Paul and Fiona climb Mt Khan Tengri - the highest mountain in Kazakhstan. Although they reached the summit, they paid a cost with frost-bite. Read their daily blog from the climb here.
