We have received confirmation from Fiona that Paul has departed South Col to make a second summit attempt.
A recent email from Eric Simonson of IMG provides more information:
“Dear Friends,
9:35pm Nepal time
Here we go again!
Jangbu reports that Dan, Jim, Pemba Dorje & Tashi Tshering left South Col at 9:20 and that Paul and Tashi Dorje are getting ready to head out a few minutes behind them. The new weather forecast is for “more of the same” which is good news. We don’t expect to hear from them until they get to the Balcony in 4-5 hours. We’ll keep you posted!”
We will continue to post updates as we receive them. Best of luck to Paul as he embarks upon this incredibly difficult endeavour.
Tim Adler.
Unbelievable update, lets all get of our positive thoughts and wishes and focus them to him. He will need it to handle “his unfinished business”
One very proud (and nervous) Dad

Very suprising and very exciting news…best of luck!

safe passage Paul

Safe summit and return. Paul has nothing to prove now to anyone exept himself. If you can do it great. If not then you have allready done way more than anyone sitting in a warm house with a full belly can possibly understand. Gods speed.
…..
What wonderful news that Paul is making a second attempt at the summit. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. And of course to Fiona, our congratulations…way to go!!

This is such great news, just what I was hoping to hear. Get right back at it after the disappointment of last night. Paul’s obviously still feeling strong, to give it another go with probably very little sleep.
They should be about 4 hours into the climb, should be approaching The Balcony, we should get an update from there.
Dad A: you should be very proud! I’m praying for God’s strength and protective hand on Paul these next hours.
Go Paul! Go Jim and Dan as well!
You can do it.
Blessings to you all,
Mark R

truly admirable Paul. Be smart, climb fast and climb safe.

Dear Paula & Fiona,
We are speechless! Also got chills & everything. What a great development. Paul, we are sending all of the positive vibes that the human race can. We even built a small Everest mock-up, with a Paul doll on top. This is even more inspiring than if you made it the first time. What a movie this’ll make! The Da Vinci Code doesn’t have anything on you: you 2 are truly the masters!
Most love & good wishes,
Steve & Paula Dansker
…..
Wishing you a very safe journey Paul on your second attempt to reach the top of the world. You and Fiona are amazing! I’m having trouble concentrating on work – too busy waiting for the next update….
…..
I am sending you continued strength and prayers and hoping that he is able to do it – here’s gearing up for Round #2 – prayers to everyone involved. Mary, how are you holding up?
…..
Yeah Paul!!!
Secretly, I knew you would be going back up for a 2nd attempt. You strike me as someone who does not give up easily. We are all behind you and as luck would have it, so are the weather gods! Great news! Climb strong and get back down safely. MC
…..
Good luck Paul on your summit attempt. Have a safe climb

Go Paulie!! “a 2nd attempt” was my 1st thought when I heard you had to retreat and I hoped you’d get an opportunity to. Good luck, climb well and we wait for news anxiously. All my thoughts, jacqueline
…..
Fiona, I can’t even believe it was you going through what you’ve described – surely you’re too practical for all of that!! And one photo will be more than any of us will ever have. Very proud, Jacqueline
…..
An awesome update Fiona, one I was really waiting to read after the vividness of your previous reports. Absolutely amazing and really makes me feel like I was in your back pack – all the way up. After following summit attempts for years this has been the best and most incredible.
Paul, all the best for your attempt today. If the strength and wishes of your followers are an indication you’ll have no problems this time. Good luck and God speed and take care of you.
To all those who helped bring the story, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Will follow again today with hope and excitement.

We are all willing you up the mountain, Paul. Making it or not, you are a true hero in our eyes. And, Phil (Sydney), I’m sure Fiona felt like she had you in her backpack for the duration of her climb, along with another dozen or so very heavy people. I can see it’s going to be another day of checking the computer every 5 minutes or so for updates. We can’t wait to hear of the Adler family, be they ascending or descending. Please be safe.
…..
Hi Paul & Fi,
We have just checked the update- we are in total awe and admiration of you both! Well done Fi- what a fantastic effort. Paul – we wish you all the best for tonight – an inspirational decision.
Love Em & Marc
…..
Paul, what wonderful news that it is possible to do your climb after all! We cherish the hope (and belief) that all will be well this time. Much love, Anne and Ronnie, Melbourne. xx
…..
I wrote a paragraph … and then wiped it out. You’re able, you’re going and that’s it – now we wait to hear you’ve done it!
…..
Paul… Beck has told me many many great things about you, your past climbs and preperation. I knew you’d give the summit a 2nd try if you could. Our thoughts are with you, and we have everything crossed. Best of luck – we know you wont let it out of your grasp this time!

Go Paul ! I thought you would have another go. Wishing you strong and safe climbing.
…..
Good! I was hoping you would have the energy and supplies (Os) to do another attempt. Go! Ron Hilton Evergreen, CO
…..
Why doesn’t this surprise me! All the best Paul and what a wonderful description Fiona – you need to write a book as I almost felt I was in your footsteps the way you described the final climb. I was thinking about you two in the tent, what difficult and mixed emotions you must have felt, far more difficult to deal with than climbing Everest. What a lot you two must be learning about yourselves and your relationship. Fantastic achievements guys – Rosemary & Dave
…..
One step at a time … you can do it Paul!

Fiona, I’m pinching myself at the realisation that you have accomplished such an incredible dream. It’s a special and very personal feeling to actualise your dreams no matter how wild they are. Congratulations! Paul boy o boy you sure do have some bad luck, however you can take much out of this experience espcially your health and your good wife – there will be other opportunities and you will only grow from this. Much love and special thoughts Katrina & the Cuskelly family.
….
your one tough young man. you’ll get it done… I’m sure of that!!!Tanks for all the updates Mary! Vic…
…..
Paul – Not that you need inspiration or motivation, but just a reminder of the thoughts on “strength” that we shared a couple of years ago. STRENGTH: willing yourself where others wont, and doing the things that others dont, to achieve the things that others cant. All the best mate. I’ve no doubt that your self belief and determination will see you through. DJ
…..
A valiant effort and worthy of congratulations to both Fiona and Paul. You have been upper most in my thoughts and I wish you both a safe return. Love SEB xx
…..
Dear Mary, Fiona and Paul What a journey. Congratulations to 3 of you for showing such strength and courage. I will miss the daily updates- it was the best thing to access emails every day and read the marvellous stories. I have learned so much. I’m glad it’s over safely- it was like reading a thriller story that was a bit frightening and so you wanted to hurry to the end. Safe journey home. Love AD
…..
What an achievement for you both! Fiona, we are so thrilled that the talented art student from year 12 has followed a dream and Paul you have excelled. The College would delight in you speaking at assembly and Fiona -if you could be our guest at Valedictory Dinner – it would be inspirational. Also the Sportimg hall of Fame -2007?? Congratulations
