Paul, Fi and Mary have now confirmed they will be arriving at Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport on Flight TG 0993 at 11pm on Thursday 1 June. They will be clearing Customs and Immigration in Melbourne after they arrive.
It’s pretty late but for those who can … all are invited to welcome them home!

Hi Mary, Paul and Fiona
Catching up after a couple of days away working. Great to know you can now relax and enjoy yourselves. Who knows you may even be home before you read this. After the news of the last couple of days it is so good that everything went well for you. Speak to you soon.

Great News Fiona, Paul and Mary,
We will all be so happy when Flight TG 0993 touches down at Tullamarine. I know one very special Nanna Hanton won’t sleep until she knows those wheels are down. Oh what a journey! I’ll bet you can’t wait to get into your own bed and perhaps a soak in a very deep, warm bath. Wow!
Welcome back, Glenda.
…..
How I wish I could be there to welcome you both back, if I lived in Australia! (It’s a bit of a hike to get there from WI at that time of night 😉 Anyway, I, too will miss you daily climbing updates – here’s looking forward to your future. I do hope you are all willing to share more of your thoughts in reflection once you get home and settled. I am sure there’s so much to think about. Lots of rest and relaxation on your long flight home — this has been a real pleasure to follow. I can not say it enough –

Hi Guys, I hope to be there at 11pm when you touch down. Hopefully Jacqui can be with me, however she has been very busy over the last few days and is quite tired. If not, I will come along myself. Regards, Simon.

Paul, Fi, and Mary,
Thanks for the journey!

Great news guys!
Enjoy the homecoming celebrations.

“There’s no place like home…!”.
And they didn’t even have to click their heels together!
🙂

I too will miss your daily updates, but I’m happy you are making it home safely. I have enjoyed all you have offered this climbing season, like I said in an earlier post, it’s like reading a live book! I don’t even have to be a climber … I’m there! I’m glad I also found your website … Thanks
…..
I enjoyed every update there was on Everestnews.com (especially yours).
Many thanks for following your journey.

We’re so glad to hear you are almost back. We’d love to be there to meet you but it’s a fair journey from New Hampshire, USA. We’ve greatly enjoyed reading your posts and following your journey. We will miss it. Safe travels!

Welcome back treckers – speak soon

We’ll be there in spirit (esoteric and liquid) welcoming you on the tarmac but alas, too far to travel to greet you in the flesh. Dave and I have really enjoyed your journey, you’ve achieved so much – a really positive pair in a year when climbing Mount Everest seems to have been blighted by accidents. When I’m doing things these days, things I’m not enjoying but need doing, like vacuuming when my back’s crook, my mantra has become: ‘Fiona summited’. And I’ve recently taken up tennis, can barely return the ball but I keep trying because that little voice in my head reminds me: ‘Fiona summited’, or I’m dealing with a difficult situation: ‘Fiona summited’. So thanks Fiona, you’re an inspiration to us women and thanks to you too Paul for making the whole thing possible and for sharing it with us. Look forward to you more considered responses to our many queries, after your return – Rosemary & Dave

Just relaxing here in my comfy bed with the laptop reading a great description of the route and challenges up Everest at http://www.mounteverest.net/expguide/route.htm
…and thinking about your experiences. It describes how no one talks as you’re leaving camp 4…and the fear on everyone’s face going off in the dark,… and about seeing the Everest ghost – the reflection of the mountain on the clouds as the sun breaks. (did you see it?). I really would like to try it someday. In the mean time…you are an inspiration. I was mountain biking today (on the trails of flat Florida) and after 2 hours hit my limit. I had a Paul and Fi flashback, and picked up the pace for another hour. Thanks.

Paul, Fiona and Mary,
I would like to also affirm what has been said here by so many others about your determination, achievements and inspiring dispatches and images.
Hope that you all have a most memorable reuniting with family and friends.

Congratulations Fiona and Paul on your wonderful journey and I’m glad to hear that you will shortly be home safe and sound. I’m sure you will have a huge welcome home at the airport and you will be looking forward to catching up with everyone and sharing your experiences. Congratulations again.

Congrats from all six (!) of us over here. (Human, horse and hound.) Know you’ll enjoy seeing your own four-footed fluffies again – you must have missed them so much, even with Mallory as a stand-in. 😉
So stoked for you guys. Enjoy your homecoming. xo

My thoughts are with you today as you celebrate your homecoming. We’ve all benefited from your wonderful inspiring website. When time allows it would be interesting to check and see how many hits the website has had over the last 3 months. I know I checked in quite often, especially in the month of May!. I feel like we are a special group/team of the Paul & Fiona family circle. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your Everest experience. Fondly, Beth-USA

Dear Paul and Fiona,
I am so proud of you and your accomplishments. I know that the entire continent must be waiting your arrival home and for the grand celebration. I only wish that I were there to celebrate with you. You are two of the most inspiring young people that I have ever met, I adore and admire you and feel quite honored having spent time with you. Your smiling faces were always a welcome sight and I wish you well in all that you plan to do in the future. If you are ever in Florida look me up and we can do the tallest hill 345 feet or the University of Florida stadiums!!!
Congratulations again!!
Kennette
