Paul and Fi interview 28 Mar 07

March 28, 2007 By blogadmin 9 Comments

Nick here in Melbourne – With just over 24hrs to go before Paul leaves Melbourne, things are pretty hectic in the Adler household. Still Paul and Fi were in the city yesterday and were interviewed by Lindy Burns on 774 ABC Melbourne radio. You can listen to it here. Lindy followed the climb last year and is keen to do so again.

I really enjoyed hearing the interview; amazing you found the time, Paul, as you are leaving tomorrow! I liked your answer to Lindy’s question regarding last year when you ran out of oxygen, just missing the summit and that wonderful Sherpa gave you his oxygen bottle. You said to Lindy, “I think of myself as both extremely unlucky but also the luckiest man alive”. That truly sums it up. I hope that your lucky star will be shining over you this year. You certainly are prepared!

Good health, good weather and the best of luck! MC

    p.s. Thank you, Nick!

Heard your interview clearly–you’re going strong to the last minute!! Now go get some well-earned rest, Paul, and snooze your way to Kathmandu. Dena

Paul and Fiona, it was great to hear your interview yesterday and to hear that Paul is attempting Everest again, with Fiona supporting at base camp. I am an ICT teacher at a Geelong primary school and will be sharing your experience with our students ….we are a “You Can Do It” school which models and develops the 5 foundations of persistence, confidence, resilence, organisation and getting along. You and Fiona are role models to our students.
    I wish you luck.
    Cheers
    Sue

Keep on making us vibrate, just like you did last year Paul… I read all the posts last year because I found out about your blog when I came back myself from EBC. This year I’m home until may 26, so I’ll check the pages every day. Be safe, have fun with your brothers and enjoy this trip of a lifetime. This time, it’s all yours…

Paul’s Everest Climb 2007

In 2007, Paul returned to climb Mt Everest after missing out on reaching the summit by 100 metres the previous year. In 2006, Paul and Fiona both climbed together and although Fiona successfully summited, problems with Paul's oxygen system forced him to turn around. On 23 May 2007, exactly a year to the day later, he reached the summit. This is the daily blog from this climb.
