Update from Paul and Fiona
9.30 a.m Nepalese time
Paul and Fiona are on oxygen and have just reported from their rest stop above the Yellow Band, on the way to the South Col, which is where Camp 4 is. (It takes about 30 mins to write and send this report).
They said they slept well last night and that they feel good. Their masks are working well and the weather is perfect. As they look down they can see the cloud layer which is now covering Base Camp. (It is cooling off a bit here and clouding over, with light snow falling, but that’s ok, I would rather they had the good weather! They still have to get through the Geneva Spur, and then I will let you know when they reach Camp 4.
It is very exciting being here and listening to their reports on the 2 way radio and then being able to pass them on to you.
I’ll send the next one when I hear from them.
Mary
this is great mum thanks

Dear Mary, to Fiona and Paul
Thanks for the timely report. It is very exciting thinking about them on the go now and heading for their dream. AM waiting for updated info on the next 24hrs. Must be fantastic to be able to follow on the 2 way. Once again all the best for the next 24 hours. Hope the weather holds and the summit is Fi and Pauls. I can’t wait for the photos. I was impressed by the PM’s letter!

Hi Fiona and Paul,
I’m so excited by the fact that you’re actually on your way to Everest’s summit. I feel like it’s crept up very quickly in your proposed climbing schedule – and I hope that’s exactly what happens with the summit – that it too creeps up very quickly! :o)
I cannot give you a lot of advice at this point, but I recall some wise words from my guide during my tiny climbing experience in South America; “be sure to save 50% of your energy for the descent”. I’m not quite sure how to accomplish this feat (I practically crawled into base camp), but thought I would share it with you.
Good luck guys; your journey has been an inspiration to so many, and I look forward to sharing the elation of the summit with you from my lowly swivel chair. :o)
Zoe
PS Thank you for your posts Mary – you three make a great team!

Hi Guys,
Getting very close now! I hope you manage to get at least some sleep at Camp 4 before leaving for the hardest day of your lives. I can imagine the anticipation of being so close might keep you awake though. Love the letter from the PM!
Best of luck,
Brad, Trace, Madi & Paige.

Go, Fi & Paul! You can do it!
Love the updates, Mary, thank you. This is so exciting — the Adler Army is with you every step of the way to the South Col and beyond.
From America’s birthplace, the state of Pennsylvania, at about 1:50 am local time on Monday morning…..I send you God’s blessings for safety.
Now it’s back to bed for me!
