Hi everyone, it’s Fiona here.
The last few days have been pretty busy with catching up with family, friends and a bit of media. I still don’t think we’re really all back yet – part of us is still in the Himalayas! From here in Melbourne the whole experience seems a bit surreal.
Anyway, to celebrate our trip and share our adventure, we’ve decided to have a party. We’ll be showing some photos and video footage of our trip (assuming we can get it edited in time).
You’re Invited
If you’re in Melbourne, available on Saturday June 17th and would like to help us celebrate, please send us an email so that we can give you the details. It will be a fairly casual affair and people can come and go as they like from 5pm onwards (kids are most welcome).
Although there are many of you that we haven’t met, we feel like we know you and would be delighted if you can come along.
Settling Back
In the meantime, we’re still unpacking luggage (it was lost in transit for a couple of days but we have it all now), giving our washing machine a good workout, sorting through our 1500 odd photos, dealing with bills, insurance companies (we were broken into while away), and catching up with email and other admin tasks.
Once we have a bit more time to reflect, we’ll also be writing more about our trip and some of our learnings (for those people considering climbing Everest or other peaks) plus posting heaps of photos.
Hoping to see you on the 17th.
Fiona
Great stuff and congratulations to both of you. Thank your for allowing us the privilege of following your journey. It felt like we were there. The website was a great idea and we looked forward to receiving updates. All the best for your climbing future. Hope to hear of your next adventure. See you out there. Regards. Mick
I just wanted to say…WISH I COULD COME TO YOUR PARTY! I will be there in spirit.
I am sorry to hear that you had a “break in” while you were away. Kind of a harsh welcome back to “reality”.
I will look forward to hearing more about your Everest trip and some of your learnings. And the more photos the better! MC
Just wanted to say thank you for the invite, but unfortunately geography prohibits me from coming to your party. I’ll raise a toast to you from Ottawa and I hope you all have a great time. I’m really looking forward to seeing more photos and reading more about your Everest expedition.
Hi Fiona! How I so wish I lived in Australia to come to your party! It’s so deserved :). I am SO SORRY you were broken into while gone; was it very bad? I sure hope not. I am sorry for you – not fun to deal with upon returning after two months. Did you know beforehand, ie friends tell you, or did you have to be shocked when you got back home? Anyway, hugs to all of you guys and continue to enjoy settling back in…I am sure part of you misses your adventure already; indeed, I bet it is surreal to suddenly be back home after experiencing all that you did.
I know you are busy as I have been following your updates. I just wanted to ask Mary if she used the ‘Rainforest Remdies’ Lemon Myrtle Body Lotion that you purchased off our company to use to nourish your skin against the harsh elements of the Himalayas. I am one of the farmers who organically grow and manufacture the products and we are quite excited about how people are discovering it’s benifits.
Regards
Paul Parrington
Paul, Fiona & BC Mom:
A heartfelt WELCOME HOME to all of you! Dennis has arrived safely home (!!) and we in turn shall also be celebrating an amazing Everest adventure at the tiki bar (The Dong) here in the Florida Keys. We shall extend a toast to the Adler Army with hopes of a reunion and official greeting in the near future.
For everything you have accomplished — CONGRATULATIONS!
For everything you have done for all of us — THANK YOU!
I am emotionally touched to know the IMG Team has arrived home safely…
All the best for your exciting future!
Tam
I’m so sorry to hear that you had a break-in while you were gone, it must be so disappointing. I wish I lived in Australia to come to your party but I’m stuck in school in London until July. I hope you have a good time though!
Congratulations to both for your amazing journey. We wish we could join you at the party! We will never forget the image of Fiona ‘on top of the world.’ We are proud of you two for exceeding normal human bounds.
Cathy, Glenn, Ava, Tavia, Gracelyn
Dear Fiona and Paul,
John and I would love to come on Jun 17, please let me know if I can bring something other than grog.
Happy to see Zac and Zoe back at the Baths.

Paul, Fiona & BC Mom – Welcome Home and a huge thank you again for allowing those of us at home to follow you on your adventure. Can’t wait to see your pictures and Dennis’ pictures too. I will be celebrating with Tam and Dennis at Den’s Dong tonight and will be more than happy to join in the toast to the Adler Army. Take care and God Bless.

Hi folks,
After following your adventure I would love to attend, but even though I’m not too far away – only in Sydney, unfortunately a weekend business keeps my feet on the ground up here. Strange how after following your exploits it almost feels like I know you two, even just a little bit. If you make it to Sydney for a talk tour or visit, it would be great to meet you both.
Keep well and I look forward to more photos and reflections.
Phil M
Hello to both of you
Thank you so much for sharing your adventure, it has kept us on the edge of our seats over the last few weeks and we have laughed and cried with you. our manager is not as happy because it has taken up quite a lot of work time either reading your messages or discussing how you were getting on.
Congratulations on what you have achieved. we both feel like we know Everest a whole lot better now and would love to see it close up and personal one day.
enjoy your party you both deserve it and if we were anywhere near you i know we would be there. please advise if you are ever heading in the direction of england we have a few delightful mountains and you won’t have to acclimatise!! think of all the time saved that could be spent sampling the real ales at the local walkers pubs.
Hi Guys,
Welcome home! Jacqui told me about your party on Saturday and I hope to make it there, with thanks Katrina

Summited Mt. Rainier last week with a tall fellow who said he was a “coach” on your expedition this year on Everest. Name is Justin (forget the last name). Since I had been reading your dispatches it was interesting to talk to him. Talk about a small world…..
I am not a mountaineer, but I am obssesed with Everest and many other mountains, I followed closely the expeditions to Everest, and yours was an amazing experience for someone like me who would never be able to climb the mountain in reality. I want to say congratulations on your achievement and I want to ask if you will be posting more pictures of your journey, it will be great.
Thanks and congratulations.
