Camp 4
Paul and Fiona arrived at the South Col (Camp 4) about an hour ago. Sorry about the delay in letting you know, but my radio couldn’t pick them up. I spoke to Paul on the main BC radio and he thinks that where they were probably didn’t have such clear reception.
They had a terrific climb and are now eating and drinking lots and will then rest. They are feeling great.
Plan
The plan is that Fiona and her Sherpa will start heading up to the Summit at about 8 o’clock (Nepalese time) and Paul and his Sherpa will leave about an hour later.
Update from Paul and Fiona
I don’t know if they will do an update tonight but I know they will check their messages from you. They just love reading them and receive so much love, encouragement, joy and support from them.
Tonight’s Ascent
I will be glued to the 2 way tonight and will let you all know as soon as I hear from them…so stay tuned!!!
My thoughts, wishes and prayers are with them and Dasona and Mingma. Let’s all hope that the weather gods are too.
Mary
Go guys!
Have a great rest, and keep on climbing hard! Keep the updates coming…Nearly there…

Dear Mr & Mrs Adler
On behalf of the Councillors and Citizens of Bayside City Council, may I extend our whole-hearted support to both of you on the extra-ordinary challenge to conquer Mt Everest.
You should be immensely proud of your achievements to date, and to conquer the extremity of the natural elements must require an outstanding determination and skill. I am sure the community of Bayside will watch with excitement as you reach the peak and raise the Australian flag.
We hope and pray that your descent will be a safe and speedy one, and we look forward to tracing your footsteps.
Once again, the community of Bayside wishes you both all the best in this exhilarating challenge of a lifetime.
Yours faithfully
Cr Derek Wilson, Mayor.

Hi Paul & Fiona,
Just woke at 5:30am to catch up on all the latest, and I see that much has happened in the last 6 hours. Absolutely awesome – the best thing is the weather and that you guys are feeling great. Try to actively catalog the next 24 hrs, hour by hour in your memories, so that may relive and retell in all its detail.
I have cold beer on standby ready to toast the momentus occaision.
Tim & Inna
…..
Amazing effort, you two. Only a few hours to go before the last big push… Hope you get a little calm and rest beforehand, although I imagine you’ve got butterflies.
There’s an awful lot of people watching your climb, and if our good vibes could get you there, you’d be home and hosed!
(Wonder what Edmund Hillary et al would think of this hourly updates and status reports by magic little electronic devices!)
Best wishes for the next steps,
Take care of each other,
Kate & Benno Claydon
